A Pink Pepper Gin from French producers Audemus, situated in the heart of Cognac. Made with hand-picked pink peppercorns and a handful of other tasty botanicals (including honey, vanilla and cardamom - all of which are macerated separately then distilled under low pressure and temperature). You'll find a good juxtaposition between sweet and spicy notes in this one.
A rare spiced rum with a memorable name, the pink pigeon is not a drink you’ll forget in a hurry. One of Mauritius’ finer offerings, a bird native to isle is where it gets its name. Warming custard notes are released on opening the bottle and they’re soon followed by sweet icing sugar, buttery croissant and even strawberries. On drinking the sweetness remains and vanilla and nutmeg spice also come through, with a fieriness developing as you sip.
There’s raspberry on the nose as the juniper comes through and then a slight spice that develops and lingers. Blended accordingly to specifications set out by the British admiralty, Pusser's rum is a genuinely classic flavour. Bringing together rums from Barbados, Guyana, Trinidad and Jamaica, Pusser's is a real classic. Treacle, toffee and molasses aromas are released and combine wonderfully with cinnamon-spied oak and ginger. The flavour is strong yet mellow and includes notes of toffee and espresso in addition to those in the nose. Redwood Empire is a distillery out of California. Lost Monarch is a blend of bourbon and rye, aged for no less than 3 years. The blend is 60% rye whiskey (95% rye, 5% malted barley which was aged between 3-5 years) and 40% bourbon whiskey (75% corn, 21% raw rye and 4% malted barely that was aged between 5-12 years). Redwood Empire included some of their own distillate in the mix, which is why the age statement is fairly low. This expression is named after the world’s largest coast redwood by volume, standing at 320 feet tall and 26 feet in diameter.
Pipe Dream Bourbon Whiskey is named after the 14th largest tree on the planet. As the first bourbon whiskey coming from Redwood Empire Distillery, Pipe Dream sits at 90 proof and is a blend of barrels aged between 4 and 12 years. It is made from a high corn mashbill.
Remy Martin VOSP mature cask benefits from a precise maturation process which involves placing the Eaux de vie in specially selected limousin oak casks that are more than 20 years old. Rinquinquin à la pêche is made using three different types of peach - Cardinale, coronet and June gold. As if this wasn't enough peach for you, they also used the leaves from peach trees, harvests just before autumn. The leaves and peaches are all macerated separately in alcohol and white wine. Afterwards, the liquid is added to the white wine, while the solids leftover is distilled and added to the mix. Perfect for a summer aperitif, rinquinquin à la pêche goes well with tonic water or served long and over ice. The terms rinquinquin was originally a generic word. In the Provencal language, it means invigorating drink (from the verb requinquilhar: to cheer up).
