The word "rum" was actually coined in Barbados, re- nowned for its elegant and well-ba- lanced expressions. JAMAICA's rums are beloved for their signature heavier-style, high-ester profile. Planteray Original Dark Rum is a medium heavy, full-bodied rum that is ideal for cocktails and straight sipping. Planteray original dark rum "This rum is made as it was in the Golden Age, the 18th and 19th centu- ries. Planteray Original Dark Rum has a highly flavorsome profile that rum aficionados affectionately call rum funk. In the Caribbean, they used to call it 'HOGO', a term derived from the French 'haut goût', which means 'high taste'.
