Super smooth kick with lashes of orange marmalade and smashed wheat with citrus zest on the finish. Dramatic vodka. Serious flavours on show here. Very well-made vodka.
Grey Goose La Poire Vodka, 70cl
Soft freshly picked autumnal pears with smashed apple and baked baked bread overtones on first taste. This is followed by crushed pear drops and sweet freshly pressed pear juice. The kicks are almost unnoticeable and wrapped in soft lemon peel, apple juice and pear juice. The finish is long, smooth and full of juicy pear and apple notes that leave you wanting more. Ten out of ten for the grey goose team. Exceptional stuff.

Super zingy Menton lemon notes move into the rich lemon cake and soft crushed wheat and citrus peel. Lemon barley water and soft baked bread mid-palate, followed by a silky smooth kick that moves lightly through into soft yet sophisticated vanilla and smashed lemon sherbert finish. Awesome stuff. The most superior of all lemon vodkas.

Appearance: subtle light pink coloured liquid.
Nose: subtle red fruit twist balanced with rounded juniper notes, mature citrus flavours which are fresh and punchy. Finishes with woody, earthy aromas and warm spice.
Taste: a silky smooth opening that develops into rich camphor and citrus taste with an underlying fruity touch. Medium to long length with a delicate sweetness.

FOUR PILLARS BLOODY SHIRAZ GIN, 70CL
Bloody Shiraz Gin is one of three seasonal gins made by Four Pillars and is like nothing you’ve tasted before. The home of Four Pillars is in the Yarra Valley, where their neighbours make some of the finest wines in the world. So, they decided to combine Four Pillars Rare Dry Gin with some of the best Shiraz grapes in Australia to create their Bloody Shiraz Gin. They do this by steeping Yarra Valley Shiraz grapes in gin for eight weeks. The fruit is destemmed but kept mainly as whole berries, and the tanks are kept cold and stirred daily. After a period of eight weeks, the fruit is pressed before blending with rarer Dry Gin.

When perfectly prepared it’s bottled and you’ll enjoy a wonderfully mellow and drinkable bourbon which has a perfectly balanced flavour. On the nose you’ll get bright notes of vanilla, cream and spice and they soon lad onto a maple syrup rich body, warm on the palate with oak notes balancing against the spice. El jimador reposado is made from mature blue agave and spends two months resting in American oak barrels. Golden hues escape from the bottle thanks to this process and the flavour mellow yet rich with toasted agave at the forefront. Almond, vanilla and baking spices create an aroma to draw you in and then they also prop up the agave flavour with additional sweetness. The smokiness comes through at the end and is a welcome addition to the sweetness.
El Jimador Blanco Tequila, 70cl
Bottled straight from distillation, el Jimador is a crystal clear Blanco tequila and named for the skilled men who select and harvest the agave that gives it its flavour. First introduced in 1994, el Jimador Blanco is a sweet vegetal smelling tequila which also offers up notes of fresh balsa wood. These aromas merge into flavours of pine freshness, sweet agave and notes of citrus. The peppery heat comes through in the finish and reminds you it’s a genuine Mexican tequila you’re drinking.
El Gobernador Pisco, 70cl
The result is in an aromatic, floral and well-rounded spirit, sure to go handsomely in a pisco sour.
El Dorado Vintage 3yr Rum, 70cl
With a couple of awards under its belt el dorado, 3-year rum is a fine example of a mixing rum which a crispness that lends itself to sharp citrus cocktails and even exotic punches. Coconut is ever-present from the first opening and hints of sugary sweet icing sugar are also apparent in the nose. On drinking, el dorado is surprisingly dry with notes of intense brown sugar, a nutty edge and of course that coconut coming through strongly. The ends note blends vanilla with the coconut for a fresh finish.
El Dorado 8yr Rum, 70cl
One of the younger offerings from el dorado, this blend made of rums of a minimum of 8 years old is sweetly spicy and thick with molasses and toffee flavours. There’s a festive feel to this rum, with Christmas cake spices working together to create a strong and enjoyable flavour. Honey, vanilla, toffee and butterscotch are rich on the palate with syrupy orange marmalade coming through too, creating a rich and enjoyable rum which is perfect when enjoyed neat or with soft drink/mixer/mixers.
El Dorado 5yr Rum, 70cl
A bright and breezy Guyana rum, young at just 5 years old, el dorado 5 years is one of the youngest offerings from this producer. Creamy butterscotch is the leading scent when you open the bottle and it’s soon partnered with bright notes of tropical fruit and a hint of mint oil. This oily element is apparent on the palate, helping to deliver a light-bodied rum which is rich in tropical flavours including fresh coconut.
El Dorado 21yr Rum, 70cl
El Dorado 21 years uses that 21 year period as a minimum benchmark and the blend is in fact made up of blends as old as 25 years and the maturity of this rum is apparent from simply opening the bottle. The aroma is filled with sweet scents reminiscent of an old fashioned sweet shop, with boiled sweets coming through strong on the palate too. The finish brings in some of the more intense notes including fresh tobacco, spiced chocolate and together they create a rum which is ideal for after-dinner sips.
