About this product
A phenomenal force of flavour, Octomore 15.3 brings together heavy-weight peating levels of 307.2 PPM and variable harvests from one singular farm on Islay. Delicately balancing intense earthy peat smoke with cereal forward flavours enhanced by the barley’s unique terroir, the single malt Scotch whisky showcases both incomparable flavour and provenance. Grown and harvested less than two miles from the distillery, profoundly influenced by its island locale and kissed by salty sea spray, the homegrown Islay barley imparts not only malty sweetness but evokes a true sense of place.
Complex, robust and bursting with character, formidable smoke is countered by ripe fruit from its patient distillation. Octomore 15.3 has matured in a combination of first fill bourbon casks and first fill Oloroso hogsheads from Ferando de Castilla, Jerez, Spain. Bottled at 61.3%, the single malt whisky is high strength but exceptionally soft in texture. Smoked cinder toffee and rich malted barley sugar are notable on the nose, with the spirit’s smooth character punctuated with dried fruit and sweet orange zest. Octomore’s inimitable peat smoke settles on the finish, with coconut adding a delicate freshness.The influence of the oak brings contrasting notes of creamy vanilla and sharp citrus fruit, taking Octomore to yet another dimension.
