Inspired by The Lakes Gin's signature serve, The Lakes Distillery has unveiled the newest member in its spirits family; The Lakes Pink Grapefruit Gin. Celebrating the role the fruit plays as their preferred garnish, this is a refreshing gin bursting with citrus flavour. Beautifully balanced, at 46% ABV, it offers all the qualities of The Lakes' classic London dry style gin, with distinctive, resounding pink grapefruit notes. Gently distilled with the luxury of time for exceptional smoothness in a traditional copper pot still, whiskymaker Dhavall Gandhi has used only a select few of the finest botanicals and the purest water drawn from the Lake District National Park. At a time when flavoured gin sales are rising by 125%, year on year, by complementing juniper-rich flavours with the zesty citrus vigour of pink grapefruit, he has created a flavour-packed gin with no added sugar or sweeteners, or need for garnish. Dhavall, said, “Inspired by my favourite Lakes G&T serve - which is garnished with a slice of pink grapefruit - we set out to make a new expression that will stand the test of time alongside our classic Lakes Gin. “Following the philosophy of less is more, we explored different garnishes until we discovered the one which perfectly complements the balanced flavour profile of our juniper-forward gin. “Ensuring we didn't overpower the true nature of The Lakes Gin, we chose to enhance the vibrant notes of juniper and coriander with the naturally sweet, uplifting citrus flavour of pink grapefruit, making a lively new addition to our range that simply needs plenty of ice and tonic water to serve.”
