Cloudy Bay Te Koko is an individual expression of the Sauvignon Blanc grape, a complex and savoury wine that is both deliciously aromatic and richly textured. Released as a mature wine, it is a full-bodied, alternative style of Sauvignon Blanc from Cloudy Bay.
From a blend of grenache, syrah and mourvèdre. bunches are gently de-stemmed, lightly crushed and vinified in stainless steel and bottled eight months later, all to achieve a crunchy, bright, seductively fruity wine, packed with red fruit characters, well-rounded tannins and balanced acidity.
The deep purple colour of the Columbia Merlot alludes to enticing aromas of rich, dark fruits and a subtle hint of Mocha. A balanced acidity complements the textured mouthfeel, leading into a bold, lingering finish.
Opens with aromas of cranberry, dark cherry and hints of violet. Lightly toasted vanilla lifts the palate, a result of one year of French oak ageing. A balanced and food-friendly wine with firm tannins, elegant depth and soft fruit flavours.
